Rev limiter

Post by AcingTeam »

Hey guys,
I'm sure most of you already know this, but today I discovered that I have a rev limiter at 6k rpm while drag racing. I didn't know the car had it because that was the reason I blew my engine on my previous car which didn't have one (over revved it). So I was just about to shift into second gear right at 6k rpms when the front of the car litteraly jumped... I was like "whoaaa". So I stopped the car, and revved it up slowly and it stopped right at 6k. So it sounds like "vroooooooooooooooom-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m". You guys might think I'm a dork, but I never had a rev limiter before.

well, after killing my previous car by over revving... I've been driving this car really careful. Shifting at 4k mostly, but this one time when I was drag racing against a friend, I felt it yes. You're saying it's at 6250....hmmm... maybe it's my tach but it's pretty clear that it is showing 6k... sometimes just a bit over 6k rpms.

Also, I don't see why you would want to remove it. First of all it's safer, so you don't blow your engine like I did. Second of all, you get the most power when you're at 5800rpms, so anything over that is pretty much a waste of gas and time.

5800rpm? not in my engine bay tbh... the way i got my car set i get full power till limiter (never stops acceling untill it hits it) and i dont mean pushing it to limiter i reach it before i know it when i wanna drive full out.. and tbh 7500rpm wont hurt if get dualcoil valve springs
