installed NGK V-power plugs today

Post by Trubluwoo »

i know people think that you dont gain any real power with just a change in plugs and that is true to some extent but after installing these new plugs today, i can feel a difference in the car under acceleration. im not saying that i can shred the tires now but the change did get rid of the hesitation i was having while accelerating from a stop and it definately smoothed out acceleration all together, it also doesnt seem to struggle while going up the minor hills in my area anymore. just thought id pass this along for anyone who is considering a change in plugs. :D

weird because my new chevy aveo (which has the same drivetrain as the lanos) came new with the NGK -V's. I just put bosch plus 2's in it and it helped alittle. Now I need to find some bigger wires, and maybe some better coils. Anyone know where I can find some?

I have said this before and I don't get sick of telling people:

The spark plugs/wires that came with the Lanos (and perhaps all other Daewoos) are crap. You're doing yourself a disfavor if you don't replace them.

I had a ton of hesitation and stumbling before I replaced the plugs and wires in my Lanos. Hopefully the Aveo comes with something better.

btw... you don't get a performance increase unless your current sparkplugs and/or wires are not performing correctly or were under spec for the existing electrical system.

well first off, better coils as of now are not an option and wont be until someone makes a driver for them

as for wiresi would go with something like msd 8.5 or magnacore 8.5 wires

as for spark plugs, i have noticed this time and time again, when you first put a new set of plugs in a car it will aways act way better then it did with the old plugs, yes some plugs work better then others but from what ive seen they all seem to work the same after a period of time

the biggest thing is the wires, they really need to be upgraded to something good
