Lanos intake mani on an aveo

Alright if its possilbe, I want to know what I would have to do to get it to fit on there. Also would there be any gains or losses in performance? I just want to beef up the plastic one if I can before turboing.

from the looks of the aveos that i have seen, it looks like you would have to move the engine mounts on it or something to get the lanos intake on there. i would want to say gains, but i don't know for sure.

it just looks like the lanos intake is bigger than the plastic counterpart. the aveo that i had driven, had the intake right up against the firewall and it looked tricky to get it out. that may not be the case on your aveo.

hmm shouldn't be a problem because there is alot of space behind where the engine is situated

Space is not the problem, it's the way they mount. Yes you can put the lanos intake mani on but you also have to use the Lanos head and fuel rail.
Aveo that moves! Now I need those cams!

now will the lanos head fit on? if so wat needs to be modified to make it fit?

The lanos head will directly bolt to the Aveo block. No problems, only thing different is the intake side of the head where the manifold mounts

the more important question will be: why you want to swap identical parts??

they aveo intake mani is plastic, he wants a metal (aluminum) one for when he turbos, the lanos intake mani is metal

The plastic one should hold under turbocharged conditions. Considering you can only run a few PSI before the engine needs to be reinforced, the manifold should hold. You can maybe run 8 PSI, where as you can push really hard on the manifold and create much more pressure than the turbo and it'll hold.

Besides, the inside of the Lanos manifold is very rough and uneven on the inside from the casting process. You'd probably want to smooth it out before you do any big engine upgrades. The smooth plastic of the Aveo manifold might actually flow better.

And yes, it does smooth out very nicely and very easily. A simple rubberized polishing wheel on the end of a Dremel will have the thing smooth in a couple hours and it'll be flowing very nicely.

alright thanks for all the helpful info...I will probably just use the plastic one for now since i will probably be running 7psi plus I am trying to build on a limited budget but this is good information to know for later incase if I ever want to do anything serious with the 1.6L
