DIY heatshield too restrictive?

Post by Mark K »

Hey guys.

My car is still off the road but it doesnt mean i havent been tinkering with it.
I had some large diameter PVC pipe in my backyard that i made a hiet shield out of.
The pipe fits perfectly (with a tiny bit of persuasion) around the larger end of my air filter. So essentially, its an enclosure.

At the moment, my air intake setup is really short, has a pipe from the fog light hole that is directed directly infront of the filter, and my DIY enclosure shield.
I was just wondering... would the enclosure heat shield create and un-wanted restrictions to the air flow?
Im thinking that, while im driving, the fog light hole pipe will be blowing air directly into the enclosure pipe, so hot air probly wouldnt be a problem...

Any thoughts?

Honestly, I couldn't really comment on it unless I could see it. :)

Can you get a pic together?
