CAI or Extractors!?

Post by audi-tone »

Hey fellas, as the title says, what should i get first, OR should i just get both of them together?
my car is a 96 cielo with the 1.5DOHC, stock it puts out neary 70kw at the fly... my car has a 2" catback exhaust so with this what would give the better performance increase?

Options:

1. Extractors or Headers installed - $300australian dollars

2. Cold Air Induction (using a k&n pod filter) - $250

3. Both - $550 (aprox. $350-$400us)

is it worth it?
what sort of power gains could i expect from it?
and how would it enhance it? (as in, better torque, better kw outage, how much faster would it be?!)

atm the moment ive done 0-100km in about 9-10seconds...

thanx for all the help :):)
glad to be on the forums! :D :)

well for starters, don't expect any huge difference, maybe 10-15hp. But when you start doing more mods it'll help them perform much better (turbo/Supercharger, NO2, chip, etc..)
IEH (Intake/Exhaust/Headers) is always the starting point with any performance mods. You may not notice a big difference now, but after you do more mods they will be working better for you.
