Intake

Post by SuperDuperDaewoo »

I dont know what you guys r talking about when you say that an A.M. Intake for a honda civic will work for the Lanos. I purchased an intake had it cut to mak it the propr length, went to install it and the air sensor will not fit in the sensor hole because it is to small. I am still unsure of how to make it fit either. Help me please...

If the hole on the intake is too small for the sensor, then just make the hole bigger. If the hole is too big, then make an adapter so it seals properly.

It really doesn't sound like all that big a problem. As you said, the intake was made for a Civic, so there will of course be some modification to make it work. You have allready done the hard part of cutting it to length, so all that is left is to make the sensor fit. That is what modifying your car is all about. Take available parts and make them work for your purposes.

Hey! Take some pics of the work you do, we'd love to see. :)

Keep up the good work.

Due to the odd shape of the sensor, I am having trouble determing the size of the hole needed to be drilled. Does anyone know from experience what the diameter of the hole needs to be?

Also, I have a bypass filter that I purchased similar to this one...

Is this worth installing, if so the placement of this filter should between three and six inches from the intake manifold, am I correct?

I did the same! The easyes way is to make a little cut in the plastic just ner the engine and tight fit in the sensor :) THere you go...sealed and stiff :)Here is a pic

they have already answered your question, but what some of us were referring to was an AEM CAI. which is Cold Air Intake made by Advanced Engine Management, more commonly known as AEM.
