dawoo cielo stalls sumtimes.

Post by Evan »

heya guys
got a 1995 daewoo cielo for my daily driver car. and its been great to me for the last year with no problems
but noticed recently that when the engine is cold and i start it, it likes to stop. when im in gear and driving its fine but when i clutch out and let it go to idol it will drop and stall. It will do this most times when i first start it and will occasionally do it when fully warm.
ive noticed it happening more and more. ive noticed it is more often when im going arround corners.
the other day i started it and it just died instantly and ran like a dog for a few minutes, getting power , then no power. it came good and it has hasnt done it for the last week.

my mate said it sumthing to do with the fuel pump, but im more thinking a dodgy connection or sumthing.
i just checked most the hoses that i could see for cracking and stuff like that ,but cos its intermittant im a bit puzzled to what it could be.

got any ideas?
thanks guys
Evan....

some more feedback please:

1- car/engine/tranny type.
2- kms/miles on the car.
3- ignition system serviced kms (spark plugs, spark plug wires, coil pack).
4- fuel system serviced kms (injectors, filter, pump).
5- air filter serviced kms.
6- engine mods list if available.
7- exact discription for the problem.
8- associated charactristics for the problem (when car hot, goes over 60 mph, turning left, A/C on,etc...)
9- CEL status (on, off, blinking) and prefferably the DTC code you got after the OBD scan in case the CEL is on/blinking.
10- any recent engine service done even if it is a very routine one.

Sounds like it needs a service to bring it to a good starting point for problem diagnosis.
