Camshaft in the 2.0L 8V turbo engine?

Post by john s »

Does anyone know what kind of camshaft the 2.0L 8V turbo engine have?. Is it sharper than the c20ne camshaft?. Im thinking of getting a camshaft from a 2.0L SEH engine (8V 130hk). But dont know if it will do any good. So does someone know the differens betwen the c20ne camshaft and the 2.0L turbo engine.

Here is a site which focuses on the 2.0L 8V Turbo....

http://lt3.reallyrules.com/specs/LT3.html

C20GET = GM RPO CODE LT3
C20NE = GM RPO CODE LT2

I don't know if there is much difference, but I would assume that they would make the C20GET cam more aggressive.

I have been told that the SEH cam has more duration than the NE cam. Duration 265-270 degrees, LCA is around 110 degrees, approx 10.2mm lift at the valve.
I would of thought the GET cam would have less duration or perhaps a wider LCA?

camshaft in the 2.0 8V turbo engine

Post by 2 liter turbo »

From what I've been able to gather the 2.0 turbo cam has .445" lift (.262" times a 1.7-1 rocker ratio), a 114 degree lobe center and 214 degrees duration at .050" lift. 214 at .050" is around 270 degrees gross duration. The US 2.0 TBI engine is supposed to have the same camshaft. Couldn't tell you about the engine you're comparing it to. I'll leave that to one of my overseas colleagues on this board. They know far better than me!
