Nubira TB on 1.6 DOHC
I heard the throttle body of a nubira fit on the 1.6 DOHC E-Tech.
If so is there any gains? and what is the required fitting?

Keep in mind, that no matter if you get a bigger TB, the opening to the intake manifold is matched to the older TB, so unless you do a big ass port of the intake manifold, the gains would be trivial. Sure the volume of air being pulled into the engine would be a little greater, but it would encounter turbulence as it hits the mounting location of the old TB on the manifold. However, since Nubira/Leganza TBs can be found all over scrap yards, you can get one for cheap, bore out bigger bolt holes, and put it on. There will be better throttle response if nothing.

anyone think that's a good idea?
there is a $200 tb on ebay for an infinity.... at 96mm... i wonder what fun that could produce granted you had the intake manifold to make it work right...
i've been thinking about using the intergra dual stage intake (same idea as vgis) and using their big bore tb... we know it would fit with some minor adjustments those acruas get WAY up there in power... someone shold do that!

I think that is a little steep. If you had gotten to me sooner, I could have gotten you one for $10 from the Junkyard in St. Pete. First time I went there was a Leganza and Nubira with TBs intact. I went again and they were both gone. I guess I'll have to go down again to see if I can scrounge something up.
The facts:
1- TB swap will make better air flow.
2- bore on intake is as small as the OEM TB.
3- not sure about 1.6 DOHC lanos but the 1.5 SOHC already uses only 2 12mm bolts to hold TB.
4- both TBs use the same IAC and TPS sensors.
so this will be a good mod if the intake bored to match the TB port and if you did get a TB with the right price.
