all intank fuel pumps have that strainer, don't try removing it or u will damage the pump, that is just there to protect the pump, if you remove thatm, u will have to buy a new pump. just buy a walbro off ebay, the preice is right and they are easy to install
The strainer is actualy a clip on, the only reason I was thinking of removing it is due to the fact that is looks really dirty, maybe cloged reducing my fuel pressure.

did anyone have trouble with extracting them manuals or is it just me??

i extracted the files from the first archive and i ended up with 10 pdf files even though the archive had 43 files in it and i got propted with this error: unexpected end of archive

the other four archive failed to extract any files and they prompeted me with the following errors: unexpected end of archive & no files to extact and both errors refer to the no. 1 archive

any ideas??

Walbro / Fuel Pump Install

Post by sethjl »

Does anyone have any tips/instructions for installing a Walbro in a 2001 Lanos? I've got a bad fuel pump and would rather save $100 and buy a Walbro than the OEM and have it fail after 50k miles again. ;)

Thanks,

Seth

Is the pump unit in the Nubira the same as the Lanos? They have different part numbers...but i guess they could still be the same, or equal?
