Hey yall. Im kirk and I have a question for you. I just purchased a suzuki forenza...2006. I know its not a daewoo but im hearing that the motor...a 2.0L dohc 16v D-tec is the same as some of the daewoos? Am I correct in thinking this? If so.....whats out there for performance upgrades and where do I find it. Don't say FMS because the site is no longer up???? Dunno why. Thanks in advance for any help you can give in my persuit to keep up with the market flooded hondas and whatnot.

Sweet sweet....so you guys can help. Excellent!! Tell me...what are your opinions on where tuning is going for cars other than the everyday honda and cars like that? I mean, I personaly bought the suzuki because I have yet to see another like it on the road.....at least where I am. I guess its just the feeling of having something that EVERYONE does not have. No disrespect to any honda guys or even you all....I just want to get in on the friendly competition with something different. Im very well mechanicly inclined and also a mechanic for my everyday job. I just need a little help on where to get stuff for my little black beauty. Any help would be greatly appreciated....thanx for listening

Not only is your drivetrain Daewoo, but pretty much your whole car is a Daewoo Nubira III badged as a Suzuki. So you definitely came to the right place. It may seem futile to find parts now, but they are out there, so a little research goes a long way.
Like it was said, 360Dynamics can get you damn near anything you can think up, but most of it is from overseas so it comes at a price.
Kinkyllama has a lot of mods on his Forenza, so if you sees this post he'll point you in the right direction.

Uhhhhhh.... yes..... your car is a Daewoo..... everywhere else in the world it's called a Daewoo Nubira.khagenow wrote:I just purchased a suzuki forenza...2006. I know its not a daewoo
Well..... then again Daewoo is manufactured on GM/Opel based chassis with GM/Opel based suspension, GM/Opel based brakes, GM/Opel based engine, GM/Opel transmission.
It's assembled in Korea and many of the parts are manufactured there but it's still a GM/Opel/Vauxhall/Holden designed vehicle.
I know this is confusing but Suzuki had absolutely zero to do with the design and manufacturing of your Forenza...... I'm sure it was "approved" by Suzuki head management but when it comes right down to it your car was manufactured in a GMDAT factory (GM/Daewoo)

wait for Kinkyllama to reply he has I believe an 05 Forenza and he's quite adversed to the tuning of it to this point as i believe he is in about 2-3 different racing leagues.khagenow wrote:Hey yall. I have a Chev Optra 5 ( Suzuki Reno )
I purchased a practically new Suzuki Forenza engine.... I've allready picked up almost all the parts ( connecting rods, forged pistons, turbo, manifold ect )
I just need to:
1) finish my turbo manifold spacer ( A T3 fits great but a T4 will touch the block )
2) pick up an intercooler.
3) Shotpeen my connecting rods
4) machine my JE Pistons
5) fabricate a downpipe
6) install my MSD Ignition system
7) pick up a boost controller
So.... by spring I should have the engine complete and in my vehicle.
I'm looking to run between 12psi and 18psi of boost.

another good place to help w/ your forenza is suzuki-forums.com There is a section for forena/reno owners thats becoming popular. At the top theres a sticky of all the parts we know of for our car too... which 95% of it is from 360dynamics
I also love the fact that you dont see to many forenza/renos around.. ive seen maybe one reno, one forenza wagon.. and probably a sedan once a week at most.
So far i havnt seen another forenza out on the track which is nice.. people are always asking what im driving.
