Re: 2O2

Post by karim »

My car is Honda City 2005 and has one cat with 2O2 one in the front and one in the eand, so I guess it's OBD2. I took before out in my previous cars but both were only 1O2, and damn you gained in high end.

what car is it? on my lanos i have only one O2 sensor at the exhaust manifold and i did use an empty CAT... it felt additional power at high rev band but the sound was not good... almost like a metal fart can.

a better solution is to get yourself a CAT bypass pipe just like mine and you will get the HP gains without the crappy sound... here are some refrences with pics:

that explains it... on the daewoos we have in egypt their is only one O2 sensor so we don't need any mods if we remove the CAT.

in your case you would need a modification to the second sensor... some kinda "seat" which is origonally used for spark plugs, the reason for using that is to locate the second O2 sensor a bit further from the exhaust stream and hince make it "sence" less O2 in the exhaust and that will make the ECU think you got a functional CAT.

I read the link that you gave me, so did you try the sparkplug seat, and is that what they call in Egypt. And read about the CAT swap pipe which is really nice, will my car is still in warrenty for 3 years, so if I go to the dealer with out CAT and just a pipe, they screw me, so I was thinking if it's possible is to install the pipe inside the CAt, so it looks like a dummy CAT. What do you think.

i did not try the spark plug seat trick as i have only one O2 sensor and my ECU doesn't check the functionality of the CAT

yes... that is the name in USA they call it "anti fouler" but here we call it "spark plug seat", you need to get one or two of those to use on the SECOND O2 sensor so that you don't get a CEL.

thats a great idea... all you have to do is empty your CAT then get a pipe with lenth and diameter that will perfictly fit into your CAT and weld it their... you will end up with a straight pipe in a CAT clothing

you can hide your pipe with the empty CAT trick but don't you think they will notice the spark plug seats mod.?? :?
