Maybe a really stupid question but can you change a 8V to a 16V without engine swap?
Ow and try to say why because I really don't get it

does the 1.5 16 valve head fit the 2.0 block?? if so then you got to make sure the intake and exhaust manifolds fits (which i doubt) so you got to go with the manifolds from the 16 valve head and get a timing belt that fits the new head... no idea about what mods to be done to the ECU if any at all.
it is more complicated than you think and i dropped the idea myself... as for performance; i was just been informed that 8 valve engines are better at torque where 16 valve engines are better at HP... it depends on hopw you like it.

Why are you refering to a 2.0L ??
I'm guessing this is a question of changing a 1.5L SOHC to a 1.5L DOHC.
The 1.5L DOHC was common in Korea.... I'm not sure how easy it would be to find one in Europe.
You would need significant modifications to change it over to the 16V head.... intake, exhaust, electrical system and more

i have no idea whatsoever
seems like beeing on call this week made me imagin things
... anyways the post didn't refer to any engine size yet most of what i said still stands... the job will use too much time and mony that an engine swap is a potentially better option.

mmmmm yeah and i don't think that they are going to love that here in Belgium...
Then I must swap my engine every year for the carcheckup
Not a n00b question after all, think I got the theory to get it... but pratacly it's not possible for me
Thanks guys!
