Just out of curiosity what is everybody using...

I am currently using 5-30W Full Synthetic "High Performance" by Quaker State. I also perform all of my own tune-ups and oil changes, I dont trust any of those Lube Job places with my car.

5W-50 Mobil 1 just from now, when I had y waranty I used the Daewoo Motor Oil 5W-30

Motul 20w-50

when i had the 1.5 8v:

motul 15-50w

Must admit, I use the cheap stuff, 5w-30 ProLine motor oil, and a FRAM filter, I do my own tuneups as well. A local "Lightnin Lube" put 1 and half extra quarts of oil in my old 86' VW GTi; just can't trust them anymore.

i love it when people who don't even know what kind of suspension their car has talk shit.

i'm not picky about oil. any synthetic 5W-30 will do. it's only in there for a few weeks anyhow.

anyway, for the record, i'm an overly sarcastic loser. a lot of what i say is kinda harsh. just consider the source if i say something that offends you. in the end, this is just a message board and nothing to be taken that seriously.

so uh... yeah... getting back to the original subject, i've never noticed a difference brand-to-brand. never really used anything besides 5w-30 synthetic in any of the cars i've had. does your oil really make that big of a difference?

It's oil, you're not going to notice any performance differences. The better the oil the safer your engine runs under heavy stress. The reason you pay more for some oil is because it's like more of an insurance that you don't blow up your engine from viscocity breakdown (sp?)

and as Mobil says: Oil is cheaper than engines... use Mobil 1

What oil viscosity does Daewoo ask for? I always thought 10W-30.

I've used Castrol 10W-30 until 75,000 miles and then I used Castrol High Mileage 10W-30. I have 185K miles, so I must be doing something right
