if that is your driving conditions then a resonator removal is the thing to do.panther wrote:Ok thanks for that. I mainly use the car for driving around town so I don't think I will benefit from removing the cat, and I don't fancy sounding like a fart canI noticed you mentioned that you gained better low revs response by removing the air resonator. I will give that a try.

i got the damn busted down pipe replaced today... i went for the long pipe as i didn't want to have so many truncations in my exhaust with my CAT swap pipe.
my old pipe was busted at the front part of the flex junction, it was goint to totally fall off in 3 days or so... the guy told me that if i waited longer it could have caused my exhaust manifold to break
i don't know if that was 100% correct but he found that my exhaust manifold bolts were a little lose especially on the # 4 cyl. and it was causing a bit of a nasty sound.
the car now sounds much better although it got a little kinda "fart can" sound... i was told that this sound will go away within 2 days or so... already sounded a little better after a 10 Kms test drive and the car feels more responsive... i guess the busted junction was blocking the exhaust flow too.
the pipe costed me 225 LE ( 38.80 USD) and i ended up with a fairly new CAT swap pipe... any body wanna make me an offer?? shipping is free withing greater cairo. the pipe replaces the CAT with no welding or other mods. whatsoever... installation time is in less than 10 min.

here is my plan....
since i have the toyota, i can stand to lose the woo for a while longer than expected... and the turbo project is going major slow because it's costing an arm and a leg (700 for the header and i'm the one making it!)...
as mentioned in a post earlier today, i know the location of a wrecked 1.6 sport lanos with an intact engine. i'm thinking that if i buy that one and make the sport motor the turbo, i can work on my current woo as an all motor beast...
get the MAINTECH N/A header from intimidator
get the test pipe from Mmamdouh
here's where i'm torn.... do i get the 7ism exhaust from intimidator? or the evofusion one? i'm thinking i'm gonna need additional back pressure so the 7ism one is better... but still kinda overkill...
any input on which system? note: i'm lazy and just want a bolt on setup that is proven to work well, not a custom setup.
sorry this was long, sorry for hijacking
