The strainer is actualy a clip on, the only reason I was thinking of removing it is due to the fact that is looks really dirty, maybe cloged reducing my fuel pressure.richardmatalon

all intank fuel pumps have that strainer, don't try removing it or u will damage the pump, that is just there to protect the pump, if you remove thatm, u will have to buy a new pump. just buy a walbro off ebay, the preice is right and they are easy to install

Walbro / Fuel Pump Install
Does anyone have any tips/instructions for installing a Walbro in a 2001 Lanos? I've got a bad fuel pump and would rather save $100 and buy a Walbro than the OEM and have it fail after 50k miles again.
Thanks,
Seth

Nubira Pump..
Is the pump unit in the Nubira the same as the Lanos? They have different part numbers...but i guess they could still be the same, or equal?debo890 wrote:or you can buy my stock nubi fuel pump for less or my inline walbro fuel pump for less also.
