Finally after blowing cash on weird stuff, I finally got a system that I am happy with. I guess you would call it a stage 2 and a stage 3. A set up for heavy winter and a summer set up. A AEM bypass valve or universal version valve can be installed between pipe 2 and pipe 3 if you wanted to. Version 4 coming soon will encase the filter in the bumper and the casement hooks to hose and air scoop...probably over kill. The kit really fits excellent and the AIT sensor is already installed. So you can keep the factory one in the factory hose for quick dealership visits if you are worried about that. Also based on new info..this intake should also be a Cold Air Intake Reno option.
First of all, this is NOT a cold air intake.
Second of all, if an intake works from the other car and looks clean that you can't even tell the difference whether it was designed for forenza or not... how would you smile?
This IS A COLD AIR INTAKE??? I think this is one of the most clean looking & proper angled set ups I have seen & ***I am not trying to offend you if you used an intake off of another car!*** I would have considered it if I had seen an item match up to the throttle body a little better.
Also some other news ..in around 7-21 days a second filter option with heat shield that seals to a hose that goes to the bumper opening with scoop and will be ram-air may be played with. ***Possibly even a third version putting the filter where the lower cooler air box resides with additional pipe with out scoop which I may like as well.***
Look at the pictures...you can make this system a short ram or a FULL COLD AIR INTAKE.
You know it was nothing more than frustration on finding parts for these cars that drove me to create stuff for it. I'm glad you like it.
What's a ram air scoop? You are saying it will come with the intake kit, so just wondering. Also, filter shield things are being sold in stores and ebay that are universal to any aftermarket intake system.
Another idea that I had is I bought one of these items (on the link)...that I was actually going to hook to the short ram to not only convert it to cold air but get more of that "cool" factor under the hood vs. just tubing going to bumper. Also I could still use even on the cold air tube version and maybe I might just nip some of the plastic out of the bumper and pop that scoop right in the bumper. Dunno yet. As I said I have really spent some cash and time on this project.
Is it me or does the forenza set up look exactly like a Leganza? Maybe it has already been stated and I didn't hear. I might want one of those intakes. They look like they might fit.
Stay in control with Hankook's weather...or not technology.

I noticed the oe lower box had gotten splash from that are so I thought it would be best. I also think it make scoop and make more of the incoming air through the oe foglight vent see one of those pics. I may take the both fog light fillers out all together. There is also a breather pic but I had not put the clamp on yet.
