do you mean that you try to rev the engine by twisting the pully on the throttle body and then you get electricuted??

how strong is that electric shock? and is it pulsating?

if it is strong as hell and rapidly pulsating then one of your spark plug cables is leaking into the engine... check all your spark plug wires.

thats a leaky spark plug wire for sure, those damn things are so strong you fell that your eyes will pop out of their sockets

the clicking is probably the sound of the spark flying from the wire to the engine block... you got to watch your engine running in a really dark night to be able to see the jumping spark.

i once had similar problem... the no. 3 wire was leaking into the exhaust manifold scheild... i could see the sparks jumping from the scheild into the block.

recheck your wires again including the sockets at both the spark plugs and coil pack ends.

i do have a '99 Lanos with a 1.5 SOHC but the symptoms you discribed are universal issue so if you had a 2001 with a 1.6 DOHC it is still the same diagnosis.

thaught so, the engine layout sounded like a 99. but thanks for the info. ill be sure to take a look at that in the morning... by the way, you wouldnt happen to know where i can find a turbo or supercharger that can for the most part bolt on to my lanos?

no idea man  ... i am kinda N\A engine person so my knowledge on that issue is pretty limited.

you can post a question about that on the "Nitrous\ forced induction" section... i am sure lots of the guys can help with that, just give them your car\engine specs and you will get loads of info from them.
