2000 lanos ECU question

Post by agentsmith »

is an ECU from a 2000 lanos sport hatch AT compatible with a 2000 lanos sport MT? ive found a good price on an ECU (130 installed!), but the ECU is from a 2k lanos sport hatch AT. or, if anyone here has an ECU theyll sell me thats from a MT 2k lanos sport hatch, ill take that also.

I've heard you can use an Automatic Transmission ECU for a Manual Transmission Daewoo, but you can't use a Manual Transmission ECU for an Automatic Transmission Daewoo. But don't quote me on it, wait for a forum member who is sure.

As for $130 installed, that is ok, but I see Lanos ECU's going for $20-$50 going on Ebay all the time, and to install them is a snap, take out your front passenger seat, unscrew the old ECU (covered with black plastic covering), unplug old ECU, install the new one, and repeat the steps backwards, there is nothing too confusing about it. Then you can use the idle learn procedure asam posted to let the ECU get adjusted to the car.

Here is an example, I believe exactly what you are looking for: 2001 Lanos MT Speed Edition ECU.

Best part, only $19.99 with one bid, but if you bid smart, I'm sure you can get it less than $130.

okay with the ECu i know there are a lot of differences in them from my experience. there are only like three model numbers for the ECU that work for my M/T 2001 lanos. so before you buy something off of ebay ask a dealership what model numbers will work with your car. then ask the seller off of ebay the number to match them up. if you buy one from a dealership it'll cost you $700 just for the ECU. so ebay is the cheapest way but may not be the right way.

On My last engine i had an auto ECU with my manual tranny.

The car only had some problems with the fueling, since it was a TBI Ecu and the engine had a MPFI conversion so i always had a CEL.
