Main Differences Between 1999 - 2001 Daewoo Lanos.

Post by BosnianLanos »

There is a manual and wiring diagram I'm eyeballing. It is original Daewoo, slightly used, and comes with a wiring diagram. Now, only problem is that I have a 1999 Lanos and the manual is for a 2001 Lanos.

I know there are a few changes like the brakes and thermostat housing, but besides that, is there anything else different? Did Daewoo rework some major parts (wiring, suspension...) or are they for the most part the same?

If I get these manuals, I'd be happy to make PDF files of certain pages to anyone who needs them. I just need to know if the cars are the same besides the brakes and thermostat. Thanks guys.

As far as i know... no major changes whatsoever. the changes between the two cars are very minor that it doesn't justfy wasting that manual you mentioned.

well i'm not completely sure but i know in the older lanos' they need the wiring to be relocated b/c of rubbing or something like that. other than that i don't think so.

There are some engine differences, too.
That is why when you buy parts, it lists parts from one VIN number to another, then from another VIN onward.

Like KLAVA1000000 to KLAVA1999999
and KLAVA20000000 on (that is just an example, those are not real numbers)

I have a 2000 Lanos parts car and I found the head bolt spacing is not the same as on my 2002 Lanos. There are a few other things that are not the same, but I can not remember right now.

Hmmm... still minor details to waste a full manual, you know how hard to get those things. i only got a PDF version with some 400 pages only after some massive searching.

So, there are a few differences. I would call different head bolt spacing a large change  .

With all this said, is it worth spending the extra 10 bucks for the 1999 Lanos Service manual, or can I get by with the 2000 or 2001 manual just the same?

I hope to buy them tomorrow.
