I recently finished polishing fuel rail, cleaning injectors, replacing vacuum hoses, cleaning and porting Intake manifold (Had 1/4 inch of Oil deposits left from breather). Car runs great...seems to have better throttle response and a bit more power in the mid-range. I removed my little breather filter because I didn't want oil spewing all over my newly cleaned engine.
However, I noticed something new when I removed my breather filter. Even though I think it isn't from the new cleaning and upgrades, I now have smoke coming from the top of little breather vavle. It smells like exhaust gas. I'm sure its been there for a while but I just noticed it now because of the removed filter.
What could the smoke be from... Worn out exhaust valve seals...Worn piston rings....head gasket?
Also, I found that my EGR Tube was 100% blocked I'm talking 3 inches of pure carbon buildup fromt the intake manifold into the tube...What might be the consequences of a clogged EGR Tube?
Thanks
Damir.

Its the tube attached to the back of the Intake manifold, about 3/4 of an inch thick with crush bends. Only way to get to it is to take of the Intake manifold, but since the bolts on the bottom of the intake are for the most part unreachable, and support the alternator, You can take the top half of the manifold off and just clean that, that gives you access to the EGR tube openings, making it cleanable.
However, I have an uber-high mileage car, so I don't think your EGR tube will be in nearly as bad shape as mine, and if you don't know what you are doing, leave it to the professionals because it involves taking out fuel rail with injectors, TB, coolant lines to TB, vaccuum lines, etc.
