Hi
I am new here i guess this is the right place to post this. I have check engine light flashing proble. It happens usually on the freeway. I did some searches and i found out that it is do to the misfire. I changed out my spark plugs and the ignition wires. I want to check the coil pack. Is there a specific procedure to check the coil pack?
Thanks

Your best bet is to download a service manual, either purchase one for about $5 or search for one of the free versions.
That will detail all the diagnostics and testing procedures.
Good luck

Thanks for the reply. I have downloaded a free service manual, but it does not have it. However, it has two thousand some pages.

I don't know if this a "specific procedure" to check coil pack but I'll do the following.
-place all 4 plugs still connected to HT wires on metal parts of engine.
-disable fuel pump by removing fuel pump relay or fuse.
-watch for 4 bright blue sparks while someone cranks engine.
Misfire can come from other sources.
-sticky valve(s).
-EGR.
-clogged fuel filter.
-lazy fuel pump.

THank you for the reply.
Yes you are right. EGR can cause misfire. i had my ELmscan 5 was recording the data while i was driving, and i see manifold absolute pressure seems normal. I thought if it is a EGR problem then you loose the vacuum, eventually intake Manifold pressure will be high.
I am going to post a new thread under engine misfire, and everybody here welcome to help me.
THanks

HI Daniel
What do you mean by sticky valves? What valve are you referring to?
Thanks
