c20xe info need please
hi every one im new here and have been searching for info for weeks but in not getting any where maybee you can help me?
ok i live in australia and can no find a c20let so im going to turbo a c20xe now with that said thee are a couple thing i need to know
im going to use a c20xe redtop motor but have seen there are 2 types one with a distributor and one with out a distributor which one do i need to use a c20let loom and ecu on? or doesent it matter?
there are 2 differnt types of flywheels on the c20xe redtops a flat type fly wheel and a pot type fly wheel how many bolts holes for the crank are there on both fly wheels 6 8 or 10 bolts holes?
are the fly wheels interchangeable between the 2?
do the pot type and flate type flywheels use the same gearbox and set up?
can you use a f18 geabox on the c20xe with ether flywheel?
and also will a f18 box bolt up to any of the v6"s if it does i may go that route instead of turbo c20xe
i have found all the info i need for converting a c20xe to turbo and these are the only questions i need answerd
if you can help that would be grate and stop me ripping my hair out as i want to start this asap and dont want to buy the wrong motor

Re: c20xe info need please
What are you putting the engine into?
Use the ecu and loom that came with the engine. Same with flywheel and clutch...
I'm guessing you're swapping it into a holden/vauxhall cause you have the f18.
Yes the 25xe bolts on too... But the extra weight would affect handling.

Hello, Welcome to the forum.
you are going to want to use the computer and wiring as best as possible from whatever motor you use. it's likely that you can use either/or but that is speculation and it would be best to play it safe.
if you are using the actual redtop motors CLET or CXE they will both have 8-bolt cranks, the 8 valve motors use a 6-bolt crank. you can use either flywheels, you just have to match the pressure plates of course. the clutch discs are the same in both. the bolt patterns are the same for the gearbox, the only difference i sthe internals and the final drive so there is no fitment problem there.
the F18 will bolt to quite a few V6 motors, I can't speak for the Australian market but here in the states you can use the 3.0 motor from the Saturn "L" series (95-98 or so), the Saab 93 and 900 from the same year range and the Cadillac Catera (Opel Omega in Europe). There are others I'm sure but this is what I know of here for sure. I think the Calibra came with a V6 as well.
Cheers,
