Unidentified part

Post by Daniel »

Hi,
Does somebody knows the purpose of this horseshoe shaped part between oil pan and clutch bell on my 1.6DOHC? Is it removeable?
Thanks,

Judging from its location I'd say it's an inspection port.

That is just a plastic cover, there should be two. Underneath it you will find further bolts that hold the sump to the engine.

You should be able to pull it out using a pair of pliers.
