Does anyone know whether the 1349cc and 1498cc SOHC 8v lanos engines have the same cam shaft?
If not, any chance anyone's got a picture for comparison?
and another thing... any ideas whether it's similar to any other GM engine's cam shaft?
this is what i've found so far, seem accurate?:

I don't know for sure.... but I assume the 1.4 SOHC, 1.5 SOHC, 1.6 SOHC are all the same.
My suggestion to you is to look at any of the four billion 1.6L 8V Vauxhall engines
I know my 1.5L SOHC head was interchangeable with my Pontiac Lemans ( Astra Mk2 ) 1.6L SOHC head.
If it is a direct match you should be able to get them relatively cheap

Thanks for the replies...
Apparently the lanos 8v camshafts are also identical (if not the same) to the opel/vauxhall corsa b 1.6 8v's camshaft?
I've found a company that have blank (ready to profile) cams exactly like the one shown in the pic above, next i need to know is what to check for to know whether mine has a cam position sensor? because didnt some/older lanos' not have a position sensor and newer ones did? or was it just pic'n'mix as to which ones did or didnt hav it?

The guy at CatCams I've been speaking to has recommended a cam with the following parameters:
any views or opinions? or has anyone got info on the the standard lanos 8v camshaft?

forgot to mention, the quoted price for said camshaft is roughly £210...
and again, how do I double-check whether I need a cam that utilises a position sensor?

does £260 seem a bit steep for an 8V camshaft? thats the final price ive been quoted, inclusive of VAT, etc.
