help needed engine shot

hi all im new to this site im looking for some advice but keep getting no were i have a 02 reg tacuma engine code a16dms bought with a rattle stripped head off to find 1 pistons had small ends gone well to save on cost i plan on fitting another engine but trying to get another engine is as hard as hell so i plan to use a vauxhall engine what a friend can get for me for around £150-£200 including engine loom and ecu can anyone tell me what vauxhall engine exactly and what is involved cheers steven

and then, I believe the vauxhaul engine code for a direct swap would be x16ex or x16dx or something similar to that I know the x's are used and the 16 remains the same just not sure of the letter after the 16.
