Post by studogs80 »

Hi, my leganza knocks and makes horrible noises. the crank is stuffed (ran out of oil). Do you think its worth spending 2950 get the engine rebuilt??
I love the car and theres nothing else wrong with it whatsoever! tranny is perfect too
Please tell me what you think:) only has 103,000KM

That is a question only you can answer really. It is a significant amount of money, but there are cheaper alternatives. On the other hand you will have a brand new engine basically which should be trouble free (of major work) for many many years. Beats buying someone else's problem, or monthly payments in my opinion. Again though only you know whats best in your situation.

it will be better to get a used engine than rebuilding yours... you always get "extra expenses" during rebuilds not to mention the time consumption and odds are the rebuilt engine will not be as good as an engine form another car... this really depends on how good your mechanic is and if their is any machining involved or not
