My pully is not in Harmony

Post by newTotheWoo »

My Leganza started with a squeak, squeak and now has a very insistent squawk. The harmonic balancer is wobbly. It is scraping against the timing belt cover. I think I need a new one. Where can I find one? Thank you all!

The pulley is wobbly. Not a ton, but enough to rub on the timing belt cover. I am concerned it may fail, or something else is going on MUCH worse. Like the crank is bent or the inside pulley for the TB is out of round. Maybe I am being paranoid. The car runs great and no other problems are evident.

I put on a new timing belt on this motor that I bought to replace the motor that was taken out with a broken timing belt. That was 1 1/2 yrs. ago.

I have been searching the garage for my old one (off the old motor.) I am afraid I tossed it.

Where can I get a new one?

Thanks daewoomofo,

I will check with them. Do you know anything about a Daewoo supplier from Porto Rico?

They are in Puerto Rico.
