On my 2001 1.6 E-TEC there is a noticeable drop in revs when the accelerator is first depressed - but only when the engine is cold (first 3-4 miles or so of a journey). Watching the rev counter when idling shows a steady RPM, however a light touch on the throttle causes a drop of ~300-400 RPM before it recovers to the correct RPM for the level of throttle applied.
Not a major issue but causes problems when driving at low speeds (around 30mph) in 3rd or 4th gear - if I lift of the accelerator then go to gently re-apply to maintain/increase speed the car turns all Australian and kangeroos until you either floor it or ride the clutch. What could be causing this bad jerking?
Googling the symptoms returns results from people on Vauxhall/Opel forums with Astra's (which as I understand are basically the same thing) and they seem to suggest cleaning the deposits from throttle body with carb cleaner - however I can't see how this would cause such a noticeable drop in RPM/jerking.
Any help from Daewoo Jedi's would be much appreciated.

Re: Hesitation when cold under light throttle
dirt and deposits might clog the air passage... if it doesn't fix your problem it won't hurt to do... you should clean the idle controller every 5k kms or so
