2000 daewoo lanos sport

Post by happyjack »

Hi , I am new to the forum and need some help/ advice. My 2000 lanos when cold is loosing power we have to have the gas petal to the floor and it slowly looses power, then it seems to kick in and runs ok . of course when i brought it to the shop it did not act up?, i asked my muffler guy about the cat convertor and he says it should run terrible all the time if it is bad. is there cetain sensors i should be looking to replace? iy also looks like the two breather hoses that come from the valve cover are really soft and i do not know where to find replacement hoses,,,,,thanks for any help paul ...

lol. in cold weather, also check the battery first.

make sure it is staying at the right volts and is putting out the right CCA {no mofo may not unacronym this}(Cold Cranking Amps)
if its normal nippy weather, make sure the CA (cranking amps) are the right amount

(no, i have no clue how to test the Amps)
along with that.. make sure when the car starts, that the Alternator is putting out the right volts too, but the battery should be able to keep the engine running for atleast 5mins.

for the hoses, go to a automotive store and look for the right ID (inside diameter) hoses and make sure they are oil/gas proof, and cut to the right size, then stick it on ur block.

also, could try a ECU (engine control unit) reset, never hurts...

anything else?

Here is the link to the ECU reset thread from the How To section

Have a read through the "How to" and FAQ sections, there are many good topics that will teach you a lot about your car.
