Replacing 1.5 DOHC with Nissan CD20 Diesel

Post by goldiegill »

Hello guys

To end all my engine problems for once and all, I've decided to replace it (1.5 L DOHC Nexia) with a 2L Nissan CD20 Diesel Engine which has a decent peak output of 75 PSI @ 4000 rpm.

I've checked that all functions in my shall work well except the tachometer. Can someone help me with that. Where is the tachometer getting its input?

Are there any suggestions from mates who have done similar things earlier?

Thanks

Why go with a Nissan diesel when there are multiple compatible Opel diesels found throughout the world?

As far as a tach input, that normally comes from the ECU..... I doubt you will find anyone here that will be able to tell you where to find that on a nissan diesel.... you would have to go to a nissan forum for that.

Few justifications to go for Nissan:-

1. Opel Diesel Engines are not easily available. And same is the case for their spares.
2. A good Nissan CD20 shall cost me about $600 whereas Opel Diesel shall not be less than $1500.
3. Nissan engines perform well in very hot climate (which normally touches 50 Degree Celsius) for Northern India. Opel / Toyota engines ceases at those temperatures.

The only limitation of Nissan Engines is its Noise.
