Oil smell from air vents on start

Post by Carr »

I have noticed recently that I am smelling oil from the air vents in the car for about 3 seconds after I start it. I have just had my timing belt and waterpump done and they did multiple tests on the oil pump and there were no problems. I also did an oil change over christmas and used 10W40 Castrol Magnatec. The oil has dropped slightly from full to about 3/4 or 2/3 but I can find no sign of leaks. I have the fan set to lowest temp on speed 1 or 2 (lowest) and to draw air from outside. I hadn't noticed any oil smell in the last 8 months until recently.

Anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing it?

Thanks
Chris
