Hello all. I'm new here and own an Aveo.
Long story short, I was inspecting the timing belt on my car, and saw that it was a Gates Powergrip.
Is this the OE belt??
I bought the car new, so I'd just assume it is, but I had thought that Gates was the good one to get and the factory belts that have broken at 50k miles were some no-name brands.
anyone?
What brand is the Aveo OE timing belt? (Gates?)

Speaking of timing belts i think mine just poped its hood on me this morning, coming into a parking lot at my local hardware store, the car bogged out when i started to accelerate from a stop in the street as if it was running out of gas, then it was ok, at the end of the parking when i pressed the cluth to stop the car it stalled, car turns over with the starter but it wont start, and the starter "noise" is different, feels like the starter has less "engine" to turn over for a normal start. I towed it to the dealer, know soon enuf whats wrong.
