Fuel problems
I have a 1.3 lanos and a couple of days ago i changed the injectors to the E30 1.6 ones, the car now starts instantly and no vibrations from the engine while starting, but the problem is sometimes i smell fuel from the exhaust and sometimes with white fumes, is there something wrong with the injectors or is it something else like the spark plugs maybe
also the car feels really choked below 2500-3000 rpm which was also the deal with the old injectors but i thought it would go with the new injectors but above 3000rpm the car is really good

White smoke? If it was over fueling it'd be black smoke. White smoke indicatessss, coolant i think? Ie, a leak into the combustion chamber and its burning water. Could be a head gasket or something a bit more severe like a crack or warp in the head. As for the car feeling choked below 3000 rpm, could be because it's over fueling too. but you might not see any dark smoke because you're not pushing the car on.

You know the problem is i only see the smoke when i start the engine, and then it goes away, should i restart the ecu after i changed the injectors? because after 3000 rpm the car actually comes alive and pulls good
But i'm pretty sure the smoke is fuel related, because with the old injectors it also used to smoke but much more than now, after i changed the injectors it just smokes a little bit, i'll check the color of the smoke again because i see it while i'm sitting in my seat so maybe i missed the color

Can you have a look at your spark plugs? Post a pic of them if you can.

I'm going today to get a wrench socket and see whats wrong with the plugs because i don't seem to have the right size, but i haven't started the car for more than 24 hours to see what the smoke is like and today i started it and its definitely white smoke

i know this is crazy but.... smell the smoak and you will know the source of it
if it is all "fuely" then it is extra fuel from a leaky injector... maybe only one injector is leaking in the new set that you got... it will also show as black smog on the correspondent spark plug of the leaky injector... that would cause black smoke though
if the smock is a bit heavy and it smells oily then it is oil... could be a big engine problem or just your oil is too thin and makes too much oil vapor that builds up in the crank case and the engine sucks all that vapor once you start the car... this would not happen if you leave the car off for 12 hours or so
if it is coolant then it will smell like sweet as i told... it will surly smell like coolant and your old spark plugs should be rusty... also you will note that coolant level is dropping

The problem is i do smell fuel but the smoke is white, and the longer i leave the car parked the heavier the smoke becomes so that eliminates thin oil and i use mobil 1 so its unlikely. What hint for oil though is the old spark plugs, when i took them out they had a blackish color to them which means excessive oil in the combustion chamber so it might be something serious or a head gasket or something but i'm guessing a crack in the head gasket that fills itself while the engine is running due to its expansion, but when i leave it to cool it opens again and leaks oil, i really don't know just my guess since i only see the smoke when i start the engine but never while its running
Anyway, its not worth removing the head for it, i'm just waiting to register the car and then do the swap, thanks for the help guys

Blackened spark plugs could mean many things:Bob3825 wrote:The problem is i do smell fuel but the smoke is white, and the longer i leave the car parked the heavier the smoke becomes so that eliminates thin oil and i use mobil 1 so its unlikely.
