Re: Opel Kadett Rallye 4x4 / Vauxhall Astra 4S Replica
Thanks and yeah a sin to remove the stuff... but I didn't intend on getting a complete working car... this was brought into the country with no valid compliance so it can't be registered and driven on the road. So after I remove the 4WD system the body will be turned into a drift car with a Lexus V8...

Opel Kadett Rallye 4x4 / Vauxhall Astra 4S Replica
I am building a replica from the ill fated Group S WRC Category that was left high and dry with the banning of Group B in 1986. Opel and Vauxhall built 4 proto type rally cars, 3 Opel Kadett Rallye 4x4.. 2 went on to do the 1986 Pari to Dakar and 1 Vauxhall Astra 4S that was entered and finished 4th...

Re: Opel Kadett GSi Group A Rally Replica
Why would you need z20let oil pump?! C20LET/C20XE has the same oil pump, and guys are making over 350HP on stock C20LET/C20XE oil pump... Yes the C20LET and the C20XE Oil pumps are the same. But the Z20LET are better standard. The XE pump can and do fail... I'd say Vauxhall/Opel knew this and chang...

Re: Opel Kadett GSi Group A Rally Replica
I have come to a complete stand still with the car. I bought a new house out of town and have been trying to finish the old one to sell it. The new place is on 5acres and has a shed with 3 phase power so I will be setting up a new workshop before continuing on the build. FYI the uprated oilpump arri...

Re: GsiTurbo 2.0L 16V Turbo buildup ***DYNORUN 236WHP 255WTQ***
Interesting read well done both of you the car... nice job. Have to ask... do you intend to change the diff ratio in the F28? you do know it is 3.72:1 and as far as I have worked out there was only ever one ratio for this box. The F20 you now run is it a 4.1:1 or a 3.9:1? which are the 2 standard ra...

Re: Opel Kadett GSi Group A Rally Replica
I built the new inlet manifold. It ended up 7inch instead of 6inch because I ran out of time to build a new fuel rail to make it all fit. inlet_manifold.jpg I was very happy with the trumpets inlet_manifold_2.jpg inlet_manifold_3.jpg Should do the trick. Ended up getting 155Hp @ the wheels (ran out ...

Re: Opel Kadett GSi Group A Rally Replica
Been very busy of late... but hasn't stopped progress. I have Ceramic Coated the exhaust manifold and fitted a new 2 1/4' system to the rear with just 1 muffler and a high flow cat. I am currently building a new inlet manifold 6 " long runners as per Greame's engine building software and will be hea...

so you used a 4-1 header setup and that is the same setup as the OEM header... right? what are the expected gains here compared to a 4-2-1 setup that you could have used? also the engine mount seems different... are those some aftermarket, more stiff mounts? MMamdouh Different from standard being 4...

Before xmas I dynod the motor. Didn't go to plan. We found that the 272 deg cams are either not 272 deg or we where expecting more from them. Yes the engine did rev more but we made less peak HP. The manifold also worked fine but the gain was different than expected. It was obvious from the start th...

Plenty of work over the last few weeks. I have now fabricated the Pedalbox That had to miss my Lexmal Ram Induction manifold I bought off ebay. The manifold is off a left hand drive Calibra so couldn't use the standard brake setup thus I had to angle it down to clear the T/Body. http://ynet.com.au/i...

Most D16 and D20 boxes I have seen are cable clutch. The main and only difference other than ratio variations is the strength of the boxes... internals are interchangable. D16 and F16 boxes are rated at aprox 190Hp at the flywheel before you will get Main Shaft Bearing fail... either you will get a ...
