If replacing the TPS doesn't fix the problem try swapping out your coil pack with someone else. My woo had a #4 cyl misfire problem and a new coil cured it.

Shaun, You can scratch item's 21 & 22 from your list. I found a set of sun visors and the seat trim at a local junk yard. unfortunately they wouldn't sell me the head light assemblies since they wanted to keep the front clip complete. So for now I'll have to live with my dingy ones. I did try cleani...

Re: engine runs rough, poor accelleration

I don't know where else to post this so I thought i'd try it here. I have a 99 Lanos and the engine sometimes run's rough at idle, but with a little throttle it smooths out real nice. Too much throttle and it act's like it's starving for fuel. When I drive it, it accellerates great as long as I eas...

Update: Well I swapped plug wires 1 & 4 at the coil and sure enough the problem went to #1 cylinder so this tells me I have a bad coil. I also did a fuel pump pressure test and it's extremely low. So now I have a fuel pump and coil on the way. I'll let you know the results after I install these new ...

swap the sockets on the coil for cylindes 1 and 4 and see the code again... that is swap the coil sockets A and B that are shown in the diagram here: http://www.daewootech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2634 if the code is the same then the problem is not in the coil but if it changed to misfire on cyl....

Well here's the latest. This has nothing to do with the poor running but it's something that had to be done. I replaced the timing belt, idler pulley, and tensioner and although a PITA it's all back together again. Now for the running issue. The only two codes I get are still #4 cylinder misfire (it...

yep, when you take off the exhaust manifold you'll see a lil passage on the #1 port that goes into the EGR. It then goes through the head into that lil solenoid and up into the intake manifold. Very odd set up. yeah I'll have to agree that it's odd. What I don't quite understand is why the book sho...

Yeah, it has EGR. Takes exhaust gas through the extreme right of the exhaust manifold, through the EGR Valve, which is a cyliner like thing that is (looking from drivers fender) to the right of the Ignition coil. Then there is a tube that leads from the EGR Tube which leads from the valve around th...

No EGR ??

OK here's a new one on me. My 99 Lanos doesn't have an EGR. I've never heard of a modern car without one. But I've looked all over this engine and don't see any signs of it ever having one. There's no indication of anything being plugged off and there's no bung anywhere on the exhaust to support an ...

Update: I swapped #2 and #4 injectors, cleared all codes and went for a test drive to see if maybe the problem would switch to #2 cylinder. After a few minutes it threw a code. This time the code is P342 = Camshaft Position Sensor A-Bank Circuit Low. Car's still running the same, so it looks like I'...
