Re: Timing Belt install; cant get cams align
Sorry I should have updated when I figured out the problem. Short story, probably just a sticking valve as it went away after some driving. Long story? Skip to the bottom two paragraphs. I have another question. I was helping a friend with her lanos when I realized a possible major problem. The cran...

Re: What clutch w/ flat flywheel? 1.6 Lanos
Where are you located? None of the 2.0 or 2.2 16v engines in the US came with a "flat" flywheel. In either. Awe you want to stick with the 2.0 from the lemans and not the 1.6. Be leery about a cheap clutch kit especially if it's claiming to be anything in regards of high performannce. I'm in the US...

Re: What clutch w/ flat flywheel? 1.6 Lanos
Are you still interested in finding a clutch. I have a lot of options availble and I can mix and match any number of items for a custom kit. Probably not. Since the slave is external I don't plan on replacing the clutch now. However based on the symptoms there is a chance it is not the slave but a ...

Re: What clutch w/ flat flywheel? 1.6 Lanos
Thank you so much! I didn't think anyone would have it.Daniel wrote:5B+5C @ http://demo.ovh.com/fr/f6a688377d26987f ... 8d6b0bf32/ .
If the "clutch release cylinder" is the same thing as the slave cylinder then according to the manual it looks external and a fairly easy job.

Re: What clutch w/ flat flywheel? 1.6 Lanos
Very easy to see the clutch slave cylinder. Look if the moving lever (a twisted flat bar) is...moving for ~15mm when the clutch pedal is depressed. No idea what clutch you need  I left my car at my other house and can't get down there till tomorrow so if someone can confirm that it is externa...

Re: What clutch w/ flat flywheel? 1.6 Lanos
Internal slave on 1.6 Lanos? Are you sure? Latest Lanos model (2002) on rockauto shows external slave. Oh it's not?! I assumed it was because I'm fairly sure my Reno was. I remember when the slave went out on my Reno the dealer replaced the clutch free of labor charges. I figured if it was external...

What clutch w/ flat flywheel? 1.6 Lanos
I think my slave is going out so I figured I would replace the clutch as well assuming it's an internal slave, It is right? I have a flat style flywheel from a lemans but don't know which clutch kit to go with. I think my lanos uses the 8.5" but I know some North American Lanos' used the 7 7/8" and ...

Re: Timing Belt install; cant get cams align
Tried half liter of diesel fuel for 5 1/2 mins and it didn't seam to help at all. The temp gauge had just barley started moving but hadn't even made it past the first bar, the large one that the needle starts at or a tad under. Are we still thinking an oil passage blocked or is there anything else I...

Re: Timing Belt install; cant get cams align
Spent the day with my niece and nephew so I will try the diesel fuel tomorrow. I have torqued my crankshaft bolt on my 1.6DOHC as per the manual and thereafter checked the final torque for my information. My torque wrench still clicked at 115 ft.lbs. Wow that's a lot. How did you hold it in place to...

Re: Timing Belt install; cant get cams align
Sounds like you installed timing belt carefully, I have one engine with a bad oil pump and it is quite loud and runs poorly. If you have a bad oil pump there should be a warning light for oil pressure in your instrument cluster If you have blockage in the upper head, but you still have oil pressure...

Re: Timing Belt install; cant get cams align
First off, before you started any work on the timing belt, did you ensure that the crankshaft was aligned correctly as step #1 ? Did you at any point have to "force" the cam shaft rotation to get alignment correct ? If the lifters did not have oil that would make a metalic sound and it would create...

Re: Timing Belt install; cant get cams align
So I got everything running and the car doesn't seam to be running right. First off I'm as positive as one can be that the timing is correct. I eye balled it, looked every so slightly off. So i tried moving it one tooth each way and it was even further off. I realized the engine was at a slight tilt...

Re: How do you tighten alternator belt? 1.6l
We don't have daewoo dealers here. Chevy is suppose to handle that stuff but in my experience if you can even get them to try to order you daewoo parts, they usually don't know how. It is always a huge hassle. I turned them which is working for now. Does anyone know if the aveo uses these same pieces?

Re: How do you tighten alternator belt? 1.6l
I took off the bolt that bolt the bracket to the intake manifold and found out why not everyone has this problem. Here you can see how much bigger the bolt hole in the bracket is than the bolt (see where the bolt bolts into intake mani for size reference of the bolt): http://i1155.photobucket.com/al...
