Might be able to set the timing to 179 degrees retarded (1 degree advanced)?

Re: 13s for $1300 Nubira turbo
I re-did the first part 2 more times before I was happy with it to get it tucked up a bit higher. Building an axhaust system on jackstands was certainly a challenge. Over the back axle now to. All supported by the factory rubber mounts. http://i451.photobucket.com/albums/qq233/fsmx02/IMG_2141.jpg ht...

Yes, I'm hoping to sell the AEM F/IC and maybe replace it with a megasquirt to continue on the DIY theme.benzino wrote:Nicels400x wrote:3rd gear
when you are done with the project, would you consider selling your AEM FIC?

Re: 13s for $1300 Nubira turbo
Do you plan to keep only the catalyser as silencer/muffler or do you will add a silencer after the link rod? Does your vehicle will pass MOT then? I'll put a muffler after the rear axle if I can find a suitable one for free, else it will just be pipe. Retaining the catalist converter means it remai...

3rd gear
Lately I made an exhaust system out of scrap 2.5" from the local exhaust shops. $0, lots of effort.

Re: Cam sensor and ignition modifications
sorry man, you seem to be clueless Pulse width is fixed between two identical engines running the same air fuel ratio with two different injection modes ( batch vs sequential ). Agreed, conditional on there being one injection event per cycle and all other variables the same. You contradict yoursel...

Re: Cam sensor and ignition modifications
ok so i dont know about the duty cycle and all that jaz. i understand it but just the very basics to get back to the original question GSE i do have a set of adjustable cam gears that are supposed to run just like stock. the exhaust gear does have the part for the sensor on it. also i think its not...

Re: Cam sensor and ignition modifications
What you have described indicates you have a fundamental misunderstanding of duty cycle. This is the proportion of on time to off time. I think you might be confusing it with pulse width. As far as my GM Daewoo ecm is concerned it is operating 2 cylinders considering there are only 2 injector driver...

Re: A way around tuning?
Ah ok, the description of "check valve" didn't indicate that it was a adjustable mechanism with an atmospheric reference. Sounds much like a simple boost controller in operation, I can see how what you described could work.

Re: A way around tuning?
I'm saying you cant achieve this function with a spring loaded check valve as it operates on a pressure difference across it's inlet and outlet. I has not atmospheric pressure reference. I'm saying the effect will be the same for each of these 2 cases: (1) 0kPa absolute manifold pressure (say idle) ...

Re: 1.6L Daewoo E-TEC II Engine Build
Is the transmission torque rating based on the peak output value of the engine or the peak you can actually develop due to resistance of the rest of the components in the system?

Re: A way around tuning?
How does the check valve know what atmospheric pressure is and it should close the line to the MAP sensor? Just as an example, the manifold pressure on an engine with forced induction might range from 0 to 200kPa absolute, with 100kPa being atmospheric pressure. You want it open in all cases from 0k...

Re: Cam sensor and ignition modifications
It still has a missing tooth once every 360 degrees of crank rotation, I'd imagine it would revert to batch 1+4 and 2+3 fuel and spark (2 cylinder ecm!) without a cam synch signal. Even if you were correct about the injector duty cycle doubling when there is no sync signal, you can still only reach ...
