I own a 97 model, and the only work it has had recently between 160-198 thou, is the control arms, brakes, rear bearings and fan belt and timing belt and the gear box service.
this would have cost me maybe 1500 all up. i think the car will go on for another 100thou or so.

harking back to my twin cam I had a fault with the fuel pump which is would not rev far past 4 grand, it would just starv.
it is a miss or a hesitation(trying to but can't sort of deal)?
But the performance of the lanos 1.6 should be quite good. with exhuast and pod it would go like the clappers.

o2 sensor can cause some trubles sometmes. mine did in the lanos, so much the car actually died, and also would not rev past such a rpm.

I figured as much, in theory a resistor in the air flow sensor would probably work, but doubt it would have large gains.
It would probably work better putting the sensor closer to the cleaner and closer to colder air.

i took the cover off today, and made a baffle to cover the oil filler hole. pretty simple exercise. there is a baffle on the other cam (side) but non on the filler side. there is no adverse affects in the cars performance so i am not sure if it worth going to the expense of rebuilding it with rings ...

if bushing sleeves are the ones that si in the ball joint, that the bolt feeds through. the arms should already have them. the arms should, be a ready replacement and have everything ready to go.

Yeh all seems in good condition. i often look at that wandering. I am going to be taking the cam cover off and making a baffle that covers the oil fill hole from splash, maybe this will solve the problem, maybe it won't. The other fact is, why is not getting this sort of problem any where else on th...

actual oil leakage. it's like oil is getting thrown onto the bottom of cap then excess pressure is forcing it out of the cap, then it leaks down the block.
I don't think it really lacks power as such. not majorly if i can tell.
