Re: Daewoo Lanos for sale
This 1999 Daewoo is still available. Anyone who has checked into it have any
suggestions for me or have an offer? If the location of the car is a problem,
let me know. If the price is the problem, let me know. Should I just keep it ?

Re: Daewoo Lanos for sale
Anyone have a thought on this car ? What about $400 or best offer ? It's a nice car for someone looking for a nice base for a little "performance grocery getter." Let me know what you think. I've enjoyed this car for 12 years, but I would like to see it in the hands of someone who knows what a great...

Daewoo Lanos for sale
To Lanos lovers in the New York , Connecticut area. I have to sell my 1999 LanosSX because I don't have the time or location to repair the engine. The water pump appears to have failed, which Damaged the timing belt which in turn bent the valves. The car was moving about 5 miles per hour when the en...

Re: 2001 lanos 1.5L needs more power!!!
I have a 1999 Lanos 1.6 ( USA) and I started with some simple things. 1) Get rid of the air intake silencer ( if you have one) 2) Replace 7mm Ignition wires with 8mm 3) Premium spark plugs 4) the 1.6 has a big heavy rear muffler. replace it with a glass pack or use a straight pipe and a nice stainle...

Re: How to remove dash from my Lanos 98'
I have a 99 Lanos and I had an ennoying vibration noise , which I thought was the dash. It turned out to be the right side hood hinge. where the two hinge sections meet there is a clearence that buzzes at idle and at low speeds. I fixed it with a piece of weather stripping between hood and body. I f...

Re: Door Panel Removal / Locking Mechanism
This feature may seem like an inconvienence, but you can easily get use to it. I have a 1999 SX. I've had it for eleven years. The only way you can lock your keys in the car is to lay them down in the trunk, and close the lid. I also got used to the window controls on the console. Both front passeng...

Re: Thermostat
It seems to me that this is just another way for the manufacturer to justify a very expensive service or repair bill. Their poor designs are costing the consumer a fortune. The DOHC 1.6 e-tec engine has similar issues with PCV valve and power steering pump replacement. There used to be a lot of repai...

Re: "Power" button 2001 Lanos
Hi, I'm glad to here that your lanos is still running well. I've found that if you keep up with your regular maintanance and do a regular inspection, they will last as long as any other compact. I'm sure that you know about the importance of timing belt replacement. If the belt fails, that can ruin ...

Re: Lanos 2 dr Sport 2001 won't start! Battery seems fine.
My lanos is a 1999 1.6 with a 5 speed manual and it has a clutch switch. It is a lockout switch to keep you from starting the car with the car in gear and the clutch engaged. ( a safety switch ) I had to replace mine about 2 years ago. It's cheap and needs no tools to install. It's required in the U...

from bluesx , I really love what you've done to your ride. I agree with your getting rid of that big heavy stock muffler . I did the same on my 1999 lanos. I changed the cat to a magnaflow performance cat , muffler to a cherry bomb and added a nice stainless steel tail pipe . KYB gas struts and shoc...

Re: RIM & TYRE CHANGING. Must read if considering.
I'm glad that there are still Daewoo owners who are enjoying their rides. I've owned my 1999 Lanos SX since new , and I've made a few simple performance changes. I've found that if you favor performance over the custom look , don't go over 1" dia. over stock. I went from 185/60 R14 to a 15 X 6.5 whe...
