it's actually Holden that owns the majority of GMDAT.... which makes sense because the engine is made in Australia in the Holden engine plant at Port Melbourne, Victoria. Here is the statistics for this plant.... 2004 Engine volumes: Family II four cylinder: 143,897 ECOTEC V6: 57,341 Global V6: 55,...

Yes the stock exhaust is pathetic performance wise, was in adelaide the other day and must of spotted at least 10,000 Lanos's, 40% of which had modded exhausts lol, but one in particular really blew me away, this thing must of been fully worked inside and out, new body kit, race seats, grill and pro...

Check http://www.daewootech.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2542

Although the aluminium sheeting transfers heat, it does block around 70% of the heat from the engine bay, i also used a piece of cloth to slow the transfer rate down, works a charm and the pod filter is much cooler with the shield up.

I was having this problem today when driving to the city, engine would idle at 1500rpm, found it to be the accelerator cable, theres this little plastic thing on it that was pushed all the way over the pully, thus wouldnt let it retract far enough, pulled it back and it was just fine

Give it a try :)

engine parts cleanup always makes performance difference. you see: as time passes, dirt and shit accumilate bit by bit on your intake, spark plugs, TB, etc... and you don't feel the power beeing robbed because it is very little bits stolen from you over long period of time. when you do clean up any...

Thats what i thought when i found this forum, couldnt believe it existed :)

Lanos's are a great little car, its good to see theres a fan base out there :D

As for coolant, its prob best to just buy the premixed stuff, less hassle in mixing 50/50

That's not the real valve cover. It's just a plastic cover that protects the spark plugs and wires. The real valve cover is under that and should be metal.
Ah I see, chances are its metal, i'll take it off and check it out some time.
