Re: possible to make control arm bushings

Hi mocpac decided to buy them, and have them pressed in, as well as new ball joints. (got sick off working on this car-as its not mine and i hate working on the things-probably spent more time getting parts than doing the work) take a shot at it yourself, purchase some urethane from a bearing shop o...

Ive tried searching on the net for online shops but have not come across any yet. Had come across a site that sells the polyurethane type bushes, used as a performa...

discovered new way to jam flywheel on nubira.

Hi , needed to take off pulley again (nubira 1.6 ltr ) and had no one to press the brakes. so decided to have a good look around the bell housing rear block area for other solutions. found where the oil pan meets the engine block, exhaust side of engine, and near the bell housing or flywheel there i...

Re: Head problem. Valves or timing, help please ?

yeh, all it said was after placing belt and marks in right position- rotate water pump so pointer matches notch and tighten pump. Rotate the crankshaft two full turns clockwise using the crankshaft pulley. (and i assume until timing marks are in right position as manual doesnt metion this). loosen w...

Re: Head problem. Valves or timing, help please ?

Re: Daewoo lanos 1.6 sx 1998 valves

if its the same as a 97 nubira 1.6 the valves sit abot 2 or 3 cm in the head, i used a large G clamp, and modified a 22mm socket, (deep socket). first placed the socket in the lifter hole the valve is in. tapped a small rubber pad to the swivel foot on G clamp (just for a little protection on the va...

Re: timing belt ? concerning cam nubira 1.6 A16DMS

cheers MMamdouh.
may have to check and clean the IAC valve, have searched a few posts and seems to be a common prob causing unsteady idle.
But i would guess it would be the same when the aircon is on, but it idles well with A/C on.

Re: removed thermostst- forgot to check position

is the wax pellet on the spring side, inside the copper cylinder section. I kept it in the spring side towards the head position, when testing the old thermostat in boiling water, only placing half of it in the water, dipping spring side in only- opens the valve. dipping the opposite side didnt do a...

Re: serpentine belt tensioner ?

nevermind, managed to pull it apart, ended up die grinding away about 5mm where the spring rests on the tensioner arm to reduce the tension, and cut some of the upper stop away so there is more travel, so i can put the belt on. tricky to put back together. Now i find out i could have bought the corr...

Re: removed thermostst- forgot to check position

thanks MMamdouh oh oh i installed it the opposite way round. i assumed the spring side of the thermostat is heated up thus opening it, hence facing inside the head as that would be the hottest. yesterday put some sealer on the thermostat housing as it was leaking. ended up snapping off the wingy thi...
