Broken timing belt :(

The timing belt in my 2002 Lanos silver broke last week. What irritates me is it was supposed to be a 150,000 mile belt and it broke with 97,000 miles on it. What upsets me even more is I had the new timing belt kit (tensioner, pulley, water pump & seals) in a box on the back seat of the car and had...

Odd starting problem

Hi everyone :) Recently did an engine swap into a 2001 Lanos hatchback for my father. There is a strange problem that I have yet to figure out. The car is at a garage and the mechanics have also not yet figured it out ... so maybe someone here may have an idea! Problem: Go out to the car in the morn...

Re: Fewer modified Daewoo's on the forum

Hey guys ... I'm here for my once in a blue moon post. :D Picked up a 2001 Lanos Hatchback for my dad. A girl who owned it near where I live did not listen to me when I told her when to change the timing belt and it broke. The car sat from 2007 til we bought it from her for $400 a few months ago. Bo...

Re: Lanos Front Hub Assembly

Thankfully, there is a Chevy dealer with a parts department guy who is helpful when trying to get me the parts I need for my Lanos, especially if I bring him in the Aveo part number for the part that will fit. If you cross reference the correct part and get the part number, perhaps you can find a Ch...

Re: Lanos Sport Body kit

I am very interested in these. Where in IL are you so I can mapquest it? I can make it from central Virginia to central IL in a long day drive (13-14 hours). If shipping is going to cost (estimated) more than gas round trip, I'd be willing to road trip out there and back to pick them up. I can probb...

Lanos HB sport body parts

Does anyone have for sale or know where I can buy the front bumper, side skirts and door molding for a Lanos HB sport? Preferably in the US so I don't have to pay crazy shipping costs!

Thanks,

Cliff

Re: Can an Aveo AT replace a Lanos AT?

Thanks :)

Good news, it was not the transmission. Surprisingly, both left and right front wheels bearings were both going bad.
They've been replaced and everything is working well again.

Can an Aveo AT replace a Lanos AT?

Just as the subject says, will an Aveo automatic transmission fit as a replacement in a Lanos?

The transmission in my Lanos is getting quite loud and needs something to be done soon.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

I let my domain name expire and some porn site grabbed it up so I no longer own it ... I had not gotten around to changing my link on here but I am doing that now.

Re: Saying HI and other Daewoo related stuff

The head is off and totally stripped and cleaned. Some of the valves are indeed bent and several of the valve guides are split and expanded where the valves bent. I need to find valve guides and valves at a price that will not make me need to sell my unborn children. LOL Also needed is a manual so I...

Saying HI and other Daewoo related stuff

Hi everyone :) I know I've not posted here in quite a while, but I am still around, still have my 2002 Lanos hatchback and my 2001 Leganza :) The Lanos now has a little over 130,000 miles and the Leganza has around 96,000 miles. Sadly, the laws here changed and I had to remove my silver mirror windo...

Re: seize of the speakers in Lanos

I just made adapter rings that fit the 4" holes and mount 6.5" speakers in place under the door panels.
No holes in the panels and the speakers sound great, plus it still looks factory original.

WTB 2001+ Lanos hatchback left side outer tail light

Was working on a car next to my Lanos when a support frame fell and broke the driver-side (left) plastic cover over the tail light. Need the body section light that has the turn signal and brake light (not the reverse light in the hatch lid). Want 2001+ light so I can mod it to silver/clear to match...
