Use of single OEM camgear does not trigger CEL in T20SED (not in mine setup). Motor using QED vernier pulley on the intake cam, altough at this is set to 0 degrees.

Pickup is on both sensors, but motor only needs one to run. Pulley can be installed on either the intake or the exhaust camshaft.

QED makes them, will set you back about CAD $300 after shipping, possibly taxes. They do not have the magnetic pickup for the cam sensor, therefore you would only be able to use one (on either intake or exhaust). Gse_Turbo mentioned there "is" another version with the pickup? In either way, I am sur...

Sorry to hear about the cracked SMT-6 Danny....this really, really sucks. Seems that lately if it is not one thing with the car, its another :( To answer your question about the rpm range, I would stick to the 7000rpm range. Even with extensive cylinder head work, in terms of improving the volumetri...

I have run into the very same problem when with my Lemans "winter car" - turned out to be bad ignition module. If you also have no spark at the same time, it is the module. Without it functioning, the ecu does not know the engine is being cranked it will not start firing the injector/sparks. If you ...

Interesting find on the aluminum flywheel

I was just lurking on the j-body.org, 2nd gen sunbird forum, and found some interesting information. Quote: http://www.j-body.org/forums/read.php?f=29&i=60287&t=60287 Fidanza 8lb alum flywheel.... note how close does it resemble our C20GET/T2XSED/U20SED 6-bolt dish flywheel. Possible match? http://i...

At first glance the pressure plates would look very much similar, if not identical. The difference is in the spring pressure within the "fingers" of the pressure plate. This is what creates the clamping pressure.

Nice start indeed!!! One other item on that is not on the list, and I used is the Synapse Missing Link. Works simply beautifully from preventing the factory map to see boost. I used it on my GSI and I would give it 5 out of 5. Its not very inexpensive (got mine for about US 90 off eBay - the univers...

I am fairly sure the alternator from 88-93 Pontiac Lemans 1.6 SOHC should fit. Short of that, try www.car-parts.com and look for Lanos or Aveo alternator

Very nice and clean looking Lacetti!! I like your choice of rims! Their style flows nicely with the lines of the car. I also see darkened (??) front headlamps, and automatic door mirrors (turning to the car with the ignition off) And I am sure the ECU conversion would be an intersting topic...would ...

oh...something I just remember. At least on my cluster with tach, the oil pressure light and the check engine lights are switched. It scared me the first time, as I thought I lost the oil pressure... LOL So, in other words, Low Oil pressure warning is check engine, and vice versa :)
