Re: Checking Fuel Rail Pressure Optra/Lacetti - help a noob!
Hello there.. sorry to hear about those issues. That little cap on the rail can be removed to reveal a small valve that you could connect a pressure gauge to. It resembles a tire stem valve, but I don't know exactly what type of fitting or connector you need to be able to attach to it. It doesn't re...

Seems like the engine mount was a great place for your sensor change, interesting design, hopefully it helps. How did you end up securing it to the cam? Just a dowel or screw or weld? Yah after some more seat time, I can say there hasn't been one cutout since the change which is awesome. To mount, ...

Crank/Cam trigger change
With the clutch/transmission maintenance done last year, I wanted to tackle another issue I had been having. Occasionally the Haltech Sprint500 would loose track of the cam sync and cause an abrupt cut. No amount of fiddling with the settings in the software would fix this, so we decided to change t...

Re: The longest Thread ever!!!
honestly I barely see Daewoo's on the street anymore, a lanos here or there but never a nubira or leganza In fact the number of Optra's has gone down significantly as well, I blame the timing belt, people are lazy and or don't want to spend money and the stealerships charge an arm and a leg for wha...

Interesting upgrade... I'm surprised the stock ECU was able to drive them!
What was the fix to solve the cutting out issue?

It ended up being just under $400 to machine the PP & flywheel, re-build the disc and re-clearance/shim as needed.PrecisionBoost wrote:How much did it end up costing you to have the clutch rebuilt ?

Re: 1.6 Turbo Lanos
Looks nice ! I almost can't believe someone is back here with a new turbo project LOL. Definitely interested in what will be used for tuning... and what sort of numbers it makes. Do you have more info and pictures about the setup? Turbo specs? Fuel system / injectors? Engine modifications? Intended ...

Clutch and F28 Transmission refreshed!
Got the clutch back - everything looks pretty good. They machined down the friction surface of the pressure plate and then shimmed it to keep the clearances the same. Disc has a new hub (apparently the splines were slightly worn) and also new ceramic pads. Flywheel has been machined to match again. ...

Worn out clutch!
02/19/15 Finnnnnnallly had some time to take the clutch out and investigate... Car has been sitting for quite some time due to the clutch issue. The ceramic pads have worn down to the rivets and that's what was causing the strange engagement and noise. Also scored up the pressure plate and flywheel....

Still needing a clutch...
So I recently blew up the oil pump in my IS300 at the track and it took my bearings along with it... Motor will be coming apart for a full rebuild :O It's not entirely a surprise since it was an original OEM pump 12 years old and 250,000km on it lol. Also I've discovered there is a significant diffe...

Re: Turbo Optra - Now on tuned Haltech @ 225whp
I should try and look back as to the clutch company he was using, I chatted with him quite some time ago about a USA supplier selling "Z20LET" clutch systems in to the UK market, I'm thinking that was his source. As for dropping off the face of the earth, I know of a few other forums where he was a...
