Re: Turbo Optra - New Direction and different setup
Hi bud - good luck with the Lexus!! As for the Optra - sounds like a very good idea to convert to a more drivable car - I am sure you will still enjoy every moment with it. I am also buiding a smaller 200WHP Opel Corsa running a TD04H turbo on a 1600 Daewoo motor - again looking at reliabillity and...

Re: Turbo Optra - New Direction and different setup
good to hear! are you running 6psi max? it reminds of an article on autospeed about turbocharging for torque using a small turbo to add low end torque but little to no added top end power which resulted in gearboxes lasting longer and better fuel economy due to being able to drive like a diesel (i....

Re: Turbo Optra - New Direction and different setup
Just thought I'd post review of the new turbo setup since I've been driving it now for about 2 weeks. This setup is actually still alot of fun to drive! The torque is available much earlier (as I get full spool 6psi at 2300 - 2500 RPM). You can even feel the added torque before its fully spooled dow...

Project factory Optra
As for the future of the Optra, my original intention was to remove the turbo related parts and use every bit I could on the IS300, thus converting the Optra back to NA. However when I was at the shop I was convinced to keep it turbo, but with a setup oriented towards driveability, useful torque and...

Lexification
I've been looking at getting another car for a while as something fresh to start. The Optra has served me well, however I think its time for a new project. A few reasons, as this is what the Optra would require to go further: - Good condition F28's are quite rare these days, and rebuild parts have b...

New Direction
So there have been quite a few changes over the past year, and the direction of this project is one of them. I'll post more details shortly, but my Optra now has a bigger brother which will carry on pushing the high performance daily driver envelope ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/smile.gif)

Re: X20XER/X20XEV parts
You can only put one adjustable cam gear in if you are running the stock ECU with a piggyback. I can't remember which one it is, but one of them has a special piece on it to trigger the cam sensor.blue4renza wrote:Can i put adjustable cam gear/gears and a piggy back for the fuel

Re: X20XER/X20XEV parts
So i'm thikning this is related to your other thread.... I didn't know you were using auto trans. That will suck up some extra power.... are you looking for 170whp? or 170 crank hp? IMO cams and high compression pistons alone in the U20SED will not be enough to achieve 170hp wheel or crank. You will...

Re: Rebuilding the T20/U20 engine block
I have the U20SED engine it is standard in the forenza/reno i wanna make more power would 11:1 pistons and ported and polished top end and header and intake and 2.25 exhaust and higher lift cams and crank pulley help to bring more power out of the motor for around 150-170 horses All this will certa...

Re: Help needed - Daewoo Lanos 1.6
sounds like a good buy! the 1.6 rods are forged, the 2.0 are not. the 2.0 rod tipically doesn't go over 200WHP, the 1.6 being forged should handle over 200whp with no problem. it should go well over 220whp.that being said, I don't recall anyone ever saying that they have had problems or what hp it ...
