I used to use shell helix ultra (5w 40 I think) and yeah it was a good oil. Here, where I am in Australia we would get summer temps up around 40-45 deg C and winters down to -10 deg C. The oil performed well across the field although I did have to top it up a little more often. Nowdays my engine ha...

Re: 2000 Leganza timing belt/water pump installation .. humm

the water pump is the tensioner. From what i understand the torque settings are stamped on the block. USE A TORQUE WRENCH. I had mine inproperly torqued by a mechanic and 6000km later i had 4 bent valves

if you get a stall converter that is slightly higher then the rpms that the car spools at you wont have any lag.

Re: CAI & crankcase vent tube

its a EPA requirement to have it hooked up, and a defect if it isnt hooked up in australia unless the car is pre 1973. Been done for it before

ecu question

yeaterday i was doing a little work on my girlfriends 89/90 N13 1.8l pulsar, and when i decided to have a look at the computer, it had a GM sticker on it. The plugs look like those of a lanos, one long, one short. It doesnt plug in to a leganza (2 long plugs) but it would be interesting for someone ...

Re: same as 1.4 lanos

do 1.4s even consume any fuel?? I have a 2L and it consumes nothing compared to the rest of the cars in my family, albeit there are 2 V6s, 2 worked V8's and a celica thats motor is on the way out. Anyway, if a 1.4l aveo consumes too much fuel for your liking, invest in a bicycle instead.

im taking my brother down to actions today to put a deposit on a 97 ZX7R. It has 30,000km on the clock, never been dropped and a yoshimira header and exhaust. In factory spec they run 11 flat 1/4 mile, dunno how quick that is for a 750, but compared to most cars thats damn quick

the thing in the pic is the muffler isnt it? It looks like the factory muffler with a small resonator built in to it and a resonator further down near the tip. From what i understand is that a muffler is a hollow body with baffles in it (in various configurations) and a resonator is just a hollow bo...

the head on my 2l leganza has been shaved a little. It runs better when its on 98 octane but there isnt much different on 91 octane. It hasnt had much taken off, but when i got my head done after my timing belt went, they took off more then what they would if they just machined it, i dont know how m...
