Re: Timing belt / water pump kits on ebay
When I saw how much the individual components from Gates were, I decided to spend the extra $70 on the Gates products figuring the ebay kits may not be the greatest quality. I got Gates stuff from O'Reilly Auto Parts - not sure if they are nation wide. Anyhow, it's changed and I hope I am all good f...

Timing belt / water pump kits on ebay
My Lanos is coming up on 120000 miles and it is time to change the timing belt again.
I see these kits on ebay for about $100 give or take a few dollars. Has anyone had any experience with any of these, good or bad?
Let me know . . .

Giving away '01 Lanos OEM wheels tires lugs and hubcaps
These are just taking up space in my garage. If anyone wants them , please come and get them. Tires are original and have about 35000 miles on them so they are down pretty close to the indicators. Hub caps all have a little paint peel and one has a scratch about the size of a quarter. I am in zip co...

Just bought a complete set off of ebay for $150 including shipping for my 2001 Lanos. I'll let you know how installation goes after I get them. What they are, are rings that go over the hub to fill in the space between the hub and the hole in the center of your aftermarket wheel, which will be bigger. My wheels have a hole in the center (center bore is what they call it) that is 72.62mm ( pretty common I understand ) and all Lanos and Nubir...

Hub Centric Rings - Revisited!
It's amazing what people will tell you when they don't have the correct thing to sell you. You will need these rings even with the tuner lug bolts. Best I could come up with was to buy a hub ring with a 57.1mm inside diameter (1/2mm too big). When I put them on the car I cut a strip of aluminum from...

New rims finally installed
After waiting around for two weeks waiting on Sears to send me some non existant hub rings, I got the wheels mounted. Turns out with lug bolts you don't need the hub centric rings as there is no way they can't go on straight. Anyhow, got tires from Tires Plus, Yokohama Avid H4 205/40 16's and Tires ...

Have you looked into the hub centric rings yet? I just put the 16X7 version of these on my 2001 Lanos hatchback. http://www.sears.com/sr/automotive/wheels_SSC_style40.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=AUTO It looks great, but drives like crap because of the vibration. I think I need a set of something...

For what it's worth... I had emailed these guys about the headers they offer and they did reply back to say that they would fit the 1.6 Lanos. That was the extent of the message though, no mention of having to do any modifications. They have since changed their website to include both the 1.5 and 1....
