Re: 2000 leganza engine misses(FIXED), engine lopes on idle stil

Cleaned the IAC when I checked it and the throttle body after I was putting everything back together from the new head gasket.

Re: 2000 leganza engine skips/misses? After running for awhile

It doesn't miss any longer, it just lopes annoyingly on idle. I've had the fuel filter changed out anyways too, so the missing problem was the plugs and/or wires.

Re: 2000 leganza engine skips/misses? After running for awhile

I've ordered the ignition coil before buying plugs and wires and it just came in, so I got it replaced. Checked out my O2 sensor (before cat), TPS and IAC. The O2 sensor and TPS didn't seem to work correctly, so I got those replaced as well. Nothing changed. I'm going to try to look for a vacuum lea...

Re: 2000 leganza engine skips/misses? After running for awhile

I've replaced my plugs and wires and driven it along on a nearby highway. The skips/misses are gone, I think, and so is the almost-dying idle after some work has been put on the engine. Normal idle is still pretty terrible, though. It feels like its loping, and when I let go of the brakes while in d...

2000 leganza engine misses(FIXED), engine lopes on idle stil

Finally did work on a leganza with a blown head gasket while ago, but it's been running pretty poorly. I've had the head machined, replaced blown gasket and any other gaskets, installed it with new head bolts, new fuel injector orings. It has a new thermostat as well. When I start the car, it idles ...

Re: Trouble starting, overheating, idling rough on 2000 Leganza

I know, I've got the monstrous 2.5k page PDF of a service manual with me. I was thinking if there was anything I could add to make it run better, though. By the time I'd have the head removed, half of the engine is already torn apart. I figured at that state I could try to do something small and nea...

Re: Trouble starting, overheating, idling rough on 2000 Leganza

Just to ask, should I do anything special when I get the head out? I'm going to get it machined obviously but is there anything interesting I could add just for the hell of it?

Re: Trouble starting, overheating, idling rough on 2000 Leganza

Well, I know that in order to replace the timing belt I absolutely had to remove the right engine mount. I might not actually need to do it for the cylinder head but I'm not entirely sure, and I really can't find any posts about someone with a Leganza that took out the head (and the search function ...

Re: Trouble starting, overheating, idling rough on 2000 Leganza

Not before but it just got on, but I figured a sensor burned out (the engine light). I've got the usual symptoms of head gasket failure like milky oil and white smoke from the tail pipe (though not alot at the moment). I want to try those sealant things as a temp patch up until I can get it done pro...

Re: Trouble starting, overheating, idling rough on 2000 Leganza

Welp I just replaced the thermostat just to confirm my previous suspicion; head gasket blew.

I really don't get it. I'm not super great with cars or anything but I take care of them and drive responsibly.

Trouble starting, overheating, idling rough on 2000 Leganza

I've had the car for a little bit now, and its been running fine until recently. I've replaced the timing belt, changed the oil, replaced the transmission fluid, and changed out the spark plugs and wires. The car is at 72k miles. Last week, I've noticed the car idling a little rough. A day or two af...

Re: Yet Another Timing Belt Change question

I just got it changed, along with pulleys and cam sensor (I was getting a trouble code about it). Started at around 7 PM (don't ask why, it was pretty stupid of me) and just finished at 2:02 AM. What I ended up doing was lifting the car at the side with the jack, then putting jackstands near both th...

Not Too Crazy Upgrades for a Daewoo Leganza 2.2L?

I've recently got a 2000 Leganza for a good price in decent condition. I want to make some minor performance upgrades on the car, as I really don't have the money for a turbo nor would I want to at the moment. I don't know too much about cars, but I can work on them pretty decently. Any ideas that c...

Re: Yet Another Timing Belt Change question

Where's the best place to put the jack for the wheel? For other cars I usually put it near the wheels but the service manual was pretty specific that the jack should go to the middle of the sides or between the front wheels. When I replaced the brake pads I placed the jack in the center of the side ...

Yet Another Timing Belt Change question

I just got a 2000 Daewoo Leganza (2.2 engine) that runs pretty much perfect, but based on the condition of the oil and transmission fluid, I had the hunch that the previous owners haven't kept up on the maintenance. After I've got them changed (as well as spark plugs and brake pads), I've put the ti...
