oh man, I just been thru it all, you wouldnt believe what you have to do just to change the thermostat...You have to take off the valve cover, the camshaft, and the timing belt as well as timing belt back upper and lower covers, as Daniel mentioned and I ended up doing to my car ... you might as wel...

No matter how many times I read the manual I just cant make sence of it. I need to replace the rubber boot thats closest to the wheel (passenger front). Do I have to take the axle out to change the outer boot or can I do it in place. 1999 Daewoo Lanos 1.5 Litre Manual Hatch..thanks heaps

Its a 1999 Daewoo Lanos 1.5 Litre, I couldnt believe I had to go to all that work just to change a thermostat, that why I waited to do it when it was time to change the Timing Belt. "You have to use a new valve cover gasket as well, unless you can still use the old one" You have to take the camshaft...

Time arrived for the dreaded Timing Belt change, it was last done 4 years ago when I bought the car. I had it done by my Local mechanic. This time I thought i'd try and do the job my-self, even though the Lanos has only done abour 30,000 klm since the last change I did not want to risk the time fact...

Crankshaft Pulley Bolt
I was going to buy a crankshaft pulley bolt (im going to change timing belt soon and going to do it my-self) and sales person asked me is it 63mm or 69mm. Is there anyway I can tell the size without having to take the belt covers off.? 1999 Daewoo Lanos Hatch SE SOHC. thanks

Thankyou MMamdouh for your reply, I will have to try and remove thermostat another way... there is no way in this world that im going to remove timing belt and upper cover to remove thermostat.. surely a car couldnt be that badly designed. :roll: edit: looked at a online manual. Can someone please tell me, is it easy to replace the thermostat in a 1999 Lanos 1.5 SOHC. It looks like a prick to get to .....stuck right in the centre of the top of plastic timing cover? Thanks

Ok, cant believe ive just noticed this, Ive had my woo for a couple of years and just noticed that the drivers seat lifts up.(hinged) Do they all do this or just mine anyways a great idea.

In the engine bay of my Daewoo lanos 1.5 there are 2 valves with black caps on my air conditioning tubing, when I unscrew caps, one has a valve fitting like you see on a tyre valve, the other is kind of like a ball that has to be pushed in.
